Thai Court Imprisons US Citizen for Translating Banned book on King
A court in Thailand sentenced a US citizen to 2 and a half years in prison on December 8th for undermining the countrys royal family, by translating excerpts of a locally banned biography of the King and posting it online. The 55 year old Thai-born American, Mr Joe Gordon, stood calmly with his ankles bound in an orange boiler suit as his sentence was revealed at a Bangkok criminal court.
