Elisabete Elisabete Cunha was born in Portugal in 1978. She was always passionate about languages since an early age and that’s why she has decided to engage in high translation studies in the first place. She graduated in Specialized Translation in 2002 and since she started her freelance career she has been providing translation and proofreading services to both national and international companies and individuals. Among her major areas of interest are: technical, medical/pharma, videogames and online games, advertising, tourism, as well as websites and IT and many more. In addition to her regular assignments, she also undertakes pro-bono translation work (she is a member of TWB – Translators Without Borders). She takes great pride in her work as a freelance translator and proofreader and strives for quality in all the assignments she is trusted with. Concerning future projects, she is planning to study Italian and to continue her previous studies in Russian. In her spare time, she enjoys all fitness related activities, as well as reading, travelling, going to the cinema and of course spending time with her family and friends. Jose I am a Portuguese native speaker translator with over twenty five years of experience and a strong background in Medical and High-tech (manuals, on-screen help, text strings, etc.). I hold a Degree in English & Portuguese Studies from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) where I studied between 1978 and 1983. I am Full member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) since 2001 and have been examined by the Institute for translation from English to Portuguese. In order to compliment my work I have also completed the Certificate of Basic Ultrasound Physics – Accrediting Body: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Olympus product training (In Vitro Diagnostics Equipment) and a Post-graduate course of ‘Translation Methodology’ designed by the National Institute of Administration and designed by E.S.I.T. – École Supérieure d’Interprétes et Traducteures (Institute of Interpreters and Translators). As well as this I have a Diploma in Quality of Translation – ISLA 1995 and a Diploma in Consecutive Interpretation – ISLA 1996.
