Project Manager, Austin

As one of many global offices, the Austin office offers translation and localisation services in all languages to clients worldwide. We specialise in medical, legal, technical and business translation, as well as software and website localisation. We strategically invest in talent and technology to ensure ongoing language industry leadership, and we are looking for a Project Manager to join our team!

Reporting to the Head of Production and Senior Project Managers, the highly professional Project Manager will mainly involve the management of translation projects:

  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other Project Managers to adjust schedules and priorities for vendors who have jobs in progress to accommodate a continuous and unpredictable workflow and enable workload balancing
  • Responsible for all coordination with and communication to and from vendors regarding projects
  • Facilitate smooth, accurate, and complete project hand-offs from vendor to vendor
  • Maintain and update project schedules, records, and materials
  • Monitor, manage, and control project costs according to established margin expectations, and work with Head of Production and/or project teams to ensure that project budgets will not be exceeded
  • Enter project costs in system and invoice projects daily
  • Work closely with and in support of others in the Production department and with other global offices; cross-train and back up other positions; perform other tasks as assigned
  • Perform final quality control review of documents
  • Perform a wide variety of document processing tasks (file management, scanning, keying, recreating, revising, desktop publishing, and formatting of both text and graphics) in many different kinds of documents and file formats, according to house style and customer requirements
  • Deliver orders to clients



  • Strong ability to multi-task and to prioritize and reprioritize tasks due to frequent change, delays, interruptions, and unexpected events
  • Excellent communication skills, using professional tone and language; tactful and diplomatic with a clear, courteous, and cooperative manner when dealing with others
  • Exposure to foreign language through previous life experience, education, or employment
  • Detail-oriented, organised, thorough, accurate, and able to work quickly and steadily in a focused manner
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrates initiative, persistence, ability to problem solve, and enthusiasm for learning
  • Proficient in standard Mac, PC and Microsoft Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Familiar with a variety of standard, web, software, publication, and industry file types
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply company systems and workflows, including where to look and whom to go to research and resolve an issue, question, or complaint
  • Ability to learn new programs
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, as evidence of a broad education and ability to deal with diverse situations and people, fluent in English and another language
