Emilia – My name is Emilia Prekate-Kyminas and I have been working as a professional freelance translator since 2003. I mainly specialize in legal, automotive, marketing/advertising, IT, business/commerce, football and EU translations. I have a BA in Translation from the University of Corfu, Greece. Translation has been my dream since the age of 15 when I first heard of it. In my first translation work after college, I was very lucky to work for 5 years as a communication & project coordinator for a major Greek translation company and to get in touch with the other, more practical aspect of translation, the organizing aspect and to understand more thoroughly the clients’ special demands and needs. Additionally, I have been working, since 2003, as a freelance translator for major local and international translation and other companies. I love to be able to facilitate understanding between people and I strive to provide quality, reliable and accurate translations. I am happily married and live in Piraeus, Greece. All my free time is devoted to my 3-year old son, Nicholas-Victor, who constantly makes sure my hands are kept very busy either with painting or playing football or playing the pirates or assaulting ‘enemy’ dinosaurs! I am very blessed to have my family and to be able to work as a translator for a living.Emilia has translated 297935 words for TranslateMedia since 27/10/2008.
